Last week there was a tragic shooting/car accident here, and of course the local evening news was all over the story. (Read about it here)
At the beginning of the news that evening, the anchorperson gave the full report of the incident and stated that the victim was in critical condition. Later in the broadcast, they came back to the story to report that they had just learned that the victim had died from the gunshot wound he had sustained. Immediately after relaying this new information, they cut to the weatherman who introduced the weather by saying that northern Utah had "dodged the bullet", but that southern Utah had taken the "bullet to the cheek".
Talk about a bad lead-in. I mean, the local news here is pretty terrible anyway, but this just takes the cake.

That's awful. They often do try too hard to link their transitions, but that one is completely inappropriate!!
