Thank goodness for little miracles!
My daughter, the Princess, is 10 months old and is just under 12 lbs. (We call her "Granny Pits" because the skin under her arms is all saggy and wrinkly.) I've always realized that she was tiny, and I brought it up to the doctor everytime we would go in for her regular checkups, but he didn't seem too concerned about it. Then at her last appointment (yucky earache!) she had lost more weight, and was down to 1 oz. away from where she had been at her 2 month checkup. At this point, the doctor started to worry. So he sent her in for a load of blood and urine tests, which all came back normal. He then sent her in for a chest x-ray to check her heart and more blood work, all which also came back normal. He then sent us up to Primary Children's Medical Center (the local top notch children's hospital) to have a Cystic Fibrosis test done. What a strange test! Anyway, that too came back normal, so now the doctor had me stop breastfeeding (I'm very sad about this) and put her on a high calorie formula. She's been on this for about 6 days now, and the change is incredible. She is happier, more energetic, more active, sleeping better but not as often (I think she slept too much before) and just seems like a completely different baby. I will be taking her in later today to have her weight checked again, and I am just sure that it will be up.
It was such a scare wondering what could be wrong with our sweet little girl, but I feel confident that all is well, and she will start gaining weight in no time!

I am so happy she's ok! Whew! Now that she has a full tummy, I'll bet she's just gonna shoot up!
Love ya!
Thanks, E. She now weighs 13 lbs. 4 oz. - she's gained almost 2 lbs. in less than a week! Things are looking good. But now we found out that we have to keep her off wheat for the next 3 months. That will be difficult as she loves Cheerios and crackers and stuff like that. It's amazing just how many things contain wheat. Ugh, hopefully this is something she'll grow out of.
check at the health food store, they have lots of wheat free products. Cereals, pasta, etc.
I'm so glad she is doing so well! Go M!
Granny Pits! LOL
