Beloved Prophet and President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Gordon Bitner Hinckley, passed away this evening at his home in Salt Lake City. (Full Press Release)
I've always felt like President Hinckley was "my prophet". He was the most relatable prophet to me, and everytime I heard him speak I was moved to tears. His life was an incredible example to me, and I will especially miss his sense of humor and smiling face.
"Thou shalt live together in love, insomuch that thou shalt weep for the loss of them that die..." (D&C 42:45)
I feel grateful and peaceful to know that physical death is only temporary, and that I will have the honor of hearing him speak again someday.
"...see the great reason of sorrow, and also of rejoicing—sorrow because of death and destruction among men, and joy because of the light of Christ unto life." (Alma 28:14)
