Ok, I've been quite the blogging slacker these past couple of weeks. So here I am to catch you up.
Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to photograph my sister-in-law and her family. We went to a great location and got some really nice shots. When we first got there, it was perfect photography weather. Slightly overcast and just a little bit cool. Later it got a bit too bright, but we still got a few fun shots in the sun. I still have a lot to learn, but here are a few of my favorites!

I started a photography class last week through the community education program, and so far I love it. The teacher is really great, and I'm learning a lot. Just like with the online photography class I wrote about before, this class started out talking about aperture and shutter speed. I haven't done my assignment for next week yet, but here are a couple of practice shots that I did in class.Isn't it cool how in the first picture everything is in focus, and in the second picture the focus is on the first doll and then the others and the background are out of focus? I love changing the aperture on pictures! So far it's my favorite thing I've learned.
Then a couple of days ago my sis-in-law and I took our kids to a fun activity at Wheeler Farm. The kids had a blast. The girls got their hair done by Sweet and Sassy, "Beanie" finally got to ride a pony (something she's wanted to do for a few years now), and the girls got to meet Cinderella. FUN!

Also this week, we received a gift from my Dad. In his garden, where they had never been before, 7 beautiful, white Iris flowers have grown, one for me and each of my 6 siblings. We can come up with no explanation for these flowers being there, other than Dad sent them to us to remind us that he loves us and is still watching over us.
Happy Father's Day, Daddy. I love and miss you so very much!
