Celebrating our freedom

We had a very fun 4th of July. We had breakfast at my Mom's house, and "Buddha" really enjoyed wearing his Grandpa's famous 4th of July hat.

The kids enjoyed playing with their cousins, both at breakfast and at a BBQ later on. They played in the water with "T" and "B" and had a lot of fun. "Munchkin", of course, had fun eating. (Does he ever stop???)

After dinner we went to the middle school to see fireworks. They were great, and I was excited to try out a new photography technique for my class, to get some pictures of the fireworks.

On the way home, we were almost to our house, and we saw a fire just off the freeway. So we decided to drive by it. Well, it turned out to be absolutely huge, and we were driving right next to it. The smoke was so thick as we were driving, it was difficult to see in front of us. We clocked it on our odometer and it was almost 2 miles long, and went all the way up the hill that it was on. It was really sad, and of course probably started by some idiot teenagers playing with fireworks. As we were stopped in traffic, I got a picture out of my window. It's blurry, but still a very cool picture, I think.

I hope you all had a great holiday!

Until next time... Jami

Oh my heck! How scary!

It is almost too hot here to celebrate the 4th. And of course, we can't shoot off fireworks. What a rip!
