Ahhh, the Joys of Christmas!

Every year at Christmas time, the hubby and I take the kids to see all the beautiful holiday light displays in the area. We get a list from the newspaper of all the good ones to see, and then make a night of driving around and experiencing Christmas through the eyes of a child.

So tonight was the ONLY night out of the entire month of December that Strude wasn't working or going to school and which we didn't have something else going on. So we bundled up the kids and headed out with our list of 15 or so houses.

As we drove away from the 1st display (the absolute coolest thing I've ever seen, by the way), and headed to the 2nd, Beanie (2 yrs. old) started throwing up. Of course this is the time that I have chosen to start keeping my van "relatively" clean and I am completely unprepared for such a mess. We pulled over and stripped her down, wrapped her in the only blanket in the car (chenille by the way) and attempted to clean off the carseat with baby wipes. Meanwhile I'm doing everything I can to keep from gagging, and Strude is doing everything he can to keep from throwing up himself (yes, mom's have stronger stomachs I think). I had to laugh though because as I am cleaning up vomit from the backseat of my van, the song "It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas" begins to play on the radio. Please tell me this isn't what I have to look forward to in future holiday seasons!

Finally we were on the road again, heading home, and wouldn't you know, she threw up again, this time ON the chenille blanket. Oh, what a WONDERFUL night! Gotta love that Christmas cheer.
